He previously held several positions in the UAE Football Association, including Chairman of the Transitional Committee for Managing the Federation’s Affairs between 12/20/2011 and 5/16/2012, Chairman of the Board of Directors between 2004 and 2008, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Competitions Committee between 1999 and 2001, Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Referees Committee between 1996 and 1999, Member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the National Teams Committee between 1995 and 1997, and Secretary General between 1990 and 1995.

He served as Vice President of the UAE National Olympic Committee for the Olympic period 2009-2012, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Al-Shabab Club” between 1991 and 1998. He also held several positions in the “Arab Football Association”, including Member of the Executive Office between 1998 and 2002, and Member of the Coordination and International Relations Committee between 1998 and 2002.

In addition, he held several positions in the Asian Football Confederation, including Vice President and Chairman of the Competitions Committee for the 2011-2015 cycle, Chairman of the Referees Committee and member of the Media Committee for the 2007-2011 cycle, member of the Competitions Committee between 1998 and 2002, and Vice Chairman of the Legal Committee between 1994 and 1998.

He was a member of the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 Inspection Committee, a member of the FIFA Youth Competitions Committee in 1998, and a member of the Organizing Committee for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Trinidad and Tobago 2001.

Al Sarkal won the UAE’s first championship when the youth team won the GCC Youth Championship. The UAE team also won the first championship in the 18th Gulf Cup. He won the position of Vice President of the Asian Football Confederation, established the permanent building for the UAE Football Association, approved the Players’ Status Regulations, and qualified the Olympic team for the finals of the football competition in the 2012 Olympic Games.
