He also held several positions at British American Tobacco, including: Chief Financial Officer for Western Europe from October 2017 to July 2018, Chief Financial Officer for Southern Africa from 2016 to 2017, Chief Financial Officer for Japan from 2010 to 2015, Chief Financial Officer for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova from June 2009 to November 2010, Chief Financial Officer for South Eastern Europe from 2008 to 2009, Financial Controller for Australasia from 2006 to 2008, Chief Financial Officer for Fiji, Samoa and Tonga from 2003 to 2006, and Director of Group Reporting for Australasia from March 2001 to September 2003.

He worked as a Financial Controller at Nomura Research Institute in Europe between March 1998 and September 2000, a Senior Project Accountant at Lloyds Bank in London between 1996 and 1997, and a Senior Audit Manager at Charter Financial & Auditing in South Africa between 1992 and 1996.

He has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Accounting in 1994 from the University of South Africa.
