Walid bin Khamis Al-Hashar

CEO of Bank Muscat since January 2019, Sultanate of Oman.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Securities and Investment Company (SICO ), representing Bank Muscat , since January 26, 2022, the College of Banking and Financial Studies , and the Oman Center for Governance and Sustainable Development.

He has more than 27 years of experience in the banking and oil and gas sectors, where he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “ Oman Banks Association ”.

He joined Bank Muscat in 2004 and held several positions in the bank, including: Deputy CEO, General Manager of the Banking Services Group. He also worked in Petroleum Development Oman, HSBC Bank Middle East, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran).

He was ranked on the “List of the Most Powerful CEOs in the Middle East” for 2021 and 2022, according to “Forbes Middle East Magazine”.

He holds a postgraduate diploma in management from Harvard University, and both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University in the United States of America.
