He is the Chairman of the Dubai Expo City Authority since July 15, 2022, CEO and Chairman of Emirates Airlines, and the Chairman of the Dubai Aerospace Industries Company and Dubai World since December 2010., as well as “ Meraas Holding Company ” since November 2019, “ Dubai Holding Company ” since November 2019, “ Dubai Civil Aviation Authority ”. He's also the Second Vice President of the “ Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai ” since 2008, and the President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences”, and Chairman of its Board of Trustees. He is also the Chairman of “ Dubai Airports Corporation ”, and “ Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority ” since September 20, 2021.

He is also Chairman of the Dubai Free Zones Council since August 2015, Chairman of the Dubai Duty Free Corporation, and Chairman of the of Emirates NBD Bank since June 2011, and Flydubai, and the Emirates Literature Foundation.

Sheikh Ahmed holds a number of important government positions, including  Chairman of the Department of Petroleum Affairs since September 2009, Chairman of Alliance Insurance Company since April 2018, and the British University in Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Water and Electricity Committee, and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai, board member of the Investment Corporation of Dubai and the General Civil Aviation Authority in the Emirates.

He is Chairman of the Dubai Petroleum Corporation, the Economic Development Committee in the emirate, the Supreme Committee for Financial Policy, a member of the Dubai Council since 2020, and Commissioner-General on the path of the Dubai Economy since 2020, and Chairman of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee.

He heads a number of charitable organizations, including the “Rashid Center for Childhood Therapy and Care,” the “Dubai Rotary Club,” the “Terry Fox Run Foundation” in Dubai, and the “Emirates Airlines Charitable Foundation.”

He assumed his first position in the civil aviation sector in 1985, as head of the “Dubai Civil Aviation Department - the government body”, which supervises the activities of “ Dubai International Airport ”, “Dubai Airport Duty Free”, and other related facilities. During In the same year, Emirates Airlines was established, the official international carrier of the Emirate of Dubai, where he served as its President, and served as Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai between 2003 and 2008.

 In 2019, he received the “Mohammed bin Rashid's Scarf” for his leadership in the aviation industry.

He was honored by the British Royal Aeronautical Society by granting him its membership since 1994 at the Farnborough Air Show in the United Kingdom, and he won the Verfassang Borfogalisee during a reception held by the Senate in Germany in 2008. The international press called him “Prince of Space” in recognition of his role in the aviation industry.
