He is a member of the Board of Directors of Emirates Islamic Bank , Emirates NBD Capital Limited , Emirates NBD Capital, Tanfeeth, Marsh Emirates Insurance Brokers, the Advisory Board of the University of Wollongong in Dubai , and a member of the Emirates French Business Club.

He served as CEO of Private Banking at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore for 3 years, Chief Risk Officer at the same bank, Chairman of the Islamic Advisory Board of Standard Chartered Saadiq, as well as Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Westpac Banking Services in Australia. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered Bank China Limited.

He held the position of Regional CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Middle East and North Africa in Dubai between 2006 and 2010, Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan Limited, Chairman of the Banking Advisory Board of the Dubai International Financial Centre, and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad.

He has extensive professional experience in the field of banking.

He holds a diploma from the University of New England in Australia, and graduated from the Australian Institute of Directors.
