Head of Refining at Mubadala Petroleum since June 2021, UAE. Held several positions at Mubadala Investment Company , including: Executive Director of UAE Industries Investments during 2021, Director of Energy for UAE Industries Investments during 2021, Director of Petrochemical Investments in the Refining and Petrochemicals sector between 2019 and 2020, Director of Integrated Investments in the same sector between 2015 and 2019, and member of the Employee Relations Committee. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Cosmo Energy Holdings in Japan between 2020 and 2021, a member of the Supervisory Board of Nova Chemicals between 2020 and 2021, a member of the Executive Committee of Mubadala Petroleum between 2018 and 2020, a member of the Advisory Committee of Oil Search Limited between 2016 and 2020, and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Spanish oil company Cepsa between 2016 and 2019. He worked as Head of Exploration and Production for Investment at the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) between 2015 and 2017, and held several positions at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC ), including: Director of the Exploration and Production Coordination Department for Investment during 2015, Director of the Interface Department in the Gas Directorate between 2014 and 2015, Leader of the Exploration and Production Coordination Team for Investment between 2012 and 2014, Reservoir Engineering Specialist between 2009 and 2012, and Petroleum Engineer between 1999 and 2000, in addition to his work as a Petroleum Engineer at the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) between 2000 and 2003. He has more than 22 years of experience in the field of investment, energy, asset management, deal creation, evaluation and execution. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering in 2009 from Imperial College London in the United Kingdom, a Master’s degree in the same field in 2005 from Colorado School of Mines in the United States of America, a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1999 from the University of Tulsa in the United States, and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field in 1997 from Colorado School of Mines.
