Said Darwazah

Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of “ Hikma Pharmaceuticals ” since 2014, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Royal Jordanian Airlines since June 2016, Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development since 2013, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) in Jordan since 2007, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Capital Bank of Jordan since 2021.

He is also a member of the Global Advisory Board at Babson College in the United States of America, and a director at Dash Ventures Ltd.

He has held the position of CEO of Hikma Pharmaceuticals since June 2022 and 2023. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Jordan between 2012 and 2022, Endeavor Jordan, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Beirut . He participated in establishing the Samih Darwazah Center for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at the same university.

He served as the General Manager and Acting CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines, Minister of Health between 2003 and 2006, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dead Sea Tourism and Real Estate Investment Company, and Secretary of the University of Jordan and the Jordan University of Science and Technology .

He held several positions at Hikma Pharmaceuticals, including between 2007 and 2008, CEO and Chairman of the Board between 1994 and 2003, General Manager of Western America between 1991 and 1994, Executive Vice President between 1989 and 1991, Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing between 1985 and 1988, and Production Engineer between 1981 and 1984.

Forbes Middle East ranked him among the “Most Powerful Healthcare Leaders in the Middle East” for 2022 and 2023.

He holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School in France, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in the United States of America.
