Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi

Acting Director of Youth Initiatives Department at the Federal Youth Authority , United Arab Emirates.

He supervises the implementation and supervision of 15 diverse youth initiatives and projects in the fields of entrepreneurship, arts, culture, cognitive and social development, housing and marriage.

He has been a member of the " Sharjah Consultative Council " for the Al Hamriyah region since December 2023, a member of the Board of Directors of the "Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions", a member of the Youth Technical Committee assisting the "Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers", and a member of the Youth Technical Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and works as a strategic coordinator in the same committee.

He served as the General Coordinator of the Youth Center at the United Nations Climate Change Conference “COP 28”, the General Coordinator of the Youth Pavilion at “Expo Dubai 2020”, and the Vice Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Federal Summer Program between 2023 and 2022.

He was also a member of the jury of the “Arab Youth Excellence Award”, a member of the “Arab Strategy Experts Committee for Youth, Peace and Security”, and a member of the Board of Directors of the “Al Hamriyah Club” between 2012 and 2019.

He chaired the organizing committee of both the “Hamriyah Summer Forum” between 2012 and 2018, and the “Forum of Cultural Committees in Sports Clubs” between 2015 and 2016.

He received several honors and awards for his contributions in the field of youth and youth work, including:

• First Class Medal of Excellence from the Gulf Cooperation Council 2023.
• “Best Government Communication Award” for the “Youth Station” initiative in 2023.
• “Distinguished Arab Youth Award” from the “Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development” in 2021.
• GCC Medal for Distinguished Contributions to Youth Work 2016.
