Raheel Ahmed

He has been the Chairman of the FinTech Committee at the UAE Banks Federation since March 2022.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah (RAKBank).

He held several positions at Barclays Bank in the United Kingdom, namely: Head of Product and Analytics between 2020 and 2022, Chief Executive Officer of Retail Loans between 2019 and 2020, Managing Director of Digital and Virtual Banking, Branches and Customer Advocacy between 2017 and 2019, Managing Director and Head of Mortgages and Consumer Lending between 2015 and 2017, and held the position of Non-Executive Director at Barclays Services Limited in the same country between September 2017 and January 2020.

He also held several positions at Standard Chartered Bank, including: Global Head of Strategic Transformation and Retail Clients from 2014 to 2015, Regional Head of Retail Clients in the Middle East, Pakistan and Europe, Global Head of Islamic Retail in 2014, Regional Head of Personal Banking in Pakistan, the Middle East and Africa from 2012 to 2014, Global Head of Distribution Channels from 2009 to 2012, Regional Head of Consumer for Africa from 2006 to 2008, and Head of Personal Banking in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from 2004 to 2006.

He was also a Non-Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan between 2010 and 2014, and Regional Head of Credit Risk for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Citigroup between 2002 and 2004.

He holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Pakistan in 1991.
