Al Shamisi holds the following positions:

He has over 20 years of experience in the maritime transport and ports sector. He joined Abu Dhabi Ports Company in 2008, where he held leadership positions including CEO, CEO of Ports Sector, and Vice President of Operations. He also oversaw the completion and operation of the first phase of the company's main port, Khalifa Port, and the Industrial Zone Port. Al Shamsi has also held the following positions:

  • Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company from 2020 to 2023.
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Ports Company between 2008 and 2013.
  • Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Sea Ports Federation between November 2017 and January 2022.
  • Senior Executive, Business Development and Shipbuilding Projects at Gulf Energy Marine Company between 2007 and 2008.
  • Naval Officer at Abu Dhabi National Tanker Company (ADNATCO) and NGSCO between 2001 and 2007.
  • Marine Cadet at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) between 1996 and 2001.

He served on the Board of Directors of Etihad Rail DB from 2016 to 2022, the Federal Transport Authority - Land and Maritime from 2016 to 2022, and Etihad Airways from 2013 to 2016. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre from 2016 to 2021.

He was listed among the "Most Powerful CEOs in the Middle East for 2021" by Forbes Middle East, was named Young Personality of the Year in 2012 at the Seatrade Middle East Indian Subcontinent Conference, and was ranked #1 in the Logistics News Middle East's Logistics CEO List in 2018, 2020, and 2021.

He received the Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence in Dubai in 2008 and the Peter Morris Award from the Australian Maritime College (AMC).

He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Tasmania, Australia, a Bachelor of Applied Science and Maritime Studies from the Australian Maritime College, Australia, and an Advanced Diploma in Applied Science.
