Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Hammadi's Bio
CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation since 2006, United Arab Emirates.
He has been the managing director of the same institution since 2021, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “International Nuclear Association” since May 7, 2023. He is considered the first Arab citizen to chair this association, and the first Emirati to serve as a member of its board of directors.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the “ Abu Dhabi Ports Company ” since December 2021, and the “ National Marine Dredging Company ” since March 28, 2021, in addition to membership in: the “Emirates Society of Engineers” and the World Association of Nuclear Operators “WANO”. The American Nuclear Society (ANS), the International Council for Large Electrical Systems (CIGRE), the Project Management Institute (PMI) , and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
He assumed the position of President of the “Emirates Academy for Project Management” and Director General of the “Federal Electricity and Water Authority” between 2006 and 2008, where he led an administrative restructuring process for the Authority. He also served as Chairman of the “Global Agenda Council for Energy Security” of the “World Economic Forum.”
He was a member of Al Taweelah Asia Company, a manager of business development projects that include independent water and energy producers at the Mubadala Investment Company “Mubadala” during 2006, and a director of the projects department at the “Abu Dhabi Distribution Company” between 2003 and 2006. He also worked as a project engineer at the “Abu Dhabi Distribution Authority.” Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity” between 1999 and 2003.
He holds an honorary doctorate in 2019 from Ajou University in South Korea, a master’s degree in engineering management from the Florida Institute of Technology in the United States of America, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the same institute.
