Mohammed Al-Amiri's Bio
Assistant Undersecretary for Food Diversity Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment since July 2022, United Arab Emirates.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture ( ICBA ), the Islamic Organization for Food Security, and the Global Leadership Team on Antimicrobial Resistance.
He also chairs a number of committees, such as: the National Food Safety Committee, the Higher Technical Committee for Equine Species, and the National Committee for Local Production and Technology.
He held several positions at Elite Agro in the UAE, including: Plant Tissue Culture Program Manager, Regional Manager between 2017 and 2022, Shareholder Representative, General Manager of the company in Morocco, General Manager of the company in Mauritania, and Deputy Director of Agricultural Operations in the same company between 2016 and 2017.
He also held several positions in the Ministry of Environment and Water, which is now known as the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, including: Director of the Agricultural Research Department between 2013 and 2016, Director of the Central Region between 2009 and 2013, Director of the Animal Wealth Department between 2006 and 2009, Director of the Plant Protection and Agricultural Quarantine Department between 2004 and 2006, and Head of Plant Health Affairs between 1989 and 2004.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1989 from the United Arab Emirates University .
