He joined the Dubai Police on June 13, 1983, and in 1993 he was appointed as an officer in the Narcotics Department in the General Department of Investigation in the Criminal Investigation Department. In 1997, he became Director of the Criminal Investigation Department. Then, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigations in 2004. In 2008, he was appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. His appointment as Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police came in a decision issued by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in 2013.
He was promoted to lieutenant general in July 2016.
