He held a number of positions, including:
- Chairman of the Dubai Council for Marine and Maritime Industries .
- Group CEO and Managing Director of Gulf Navigation Holding Company .
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of Drydocks World and Maritime World between 2010 and 2015.
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of Drydocks World Pacific Asia.
- Chairman of Dubai Maritime City.
- CEO of the Regional Clean Seas Organization (RECSO) between 2007 and 2010.
He previously worked at Conoco and ConocoPhillips for 26 years, holding various management positions, including Vice President of Dubai Petroleum Company, a subsidiary of ConocoPhillips in the UAE.
Buamim also served as Secretary General of the Emirates Group for Human Resources in the Oil and Gas Sector, Secretary General of the Dubai Government Oil Spill Taskforce and the Dubai Crisis Management Team, and led the Dubai Petroleum Incident Command System. He was a member of the International Organization for Human Resources Management and an advisor to the Gulf Career Development Forum.
He holds a degree in Economics and Business Development, a UK-accredited postgraduate certificate in International Human Resources Management, and several other certifications, including the National Management Certificate in Incident Management Systems from the University of Texas, USA.
Buamim passed away on April 23, 2025.
