She held the position of Head of the English Language Teaching Program at the Union University, Director of the English Language Center at the University of Sharjah , Director of the Academic and Professional Development Sector at the Dubai Modern School, and Supervisor of the English Language at the Ras Al Khaimah Educational Zone between 1993 and 2002.
She worked as an English language teacher in several academic institutions, including: “ Higher Colleges of Technology ” in the UAE, “ University of Sharjah ”, and “ Ajman University ”, in addition to working for 10 years in several secondary schools in the UAE.
She ran for the Federal National Council elections for the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in 2019.
She won the “Sheikh Khalifa Award for Teachers” in 2002, the “Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence” in 1997, and the “Distinguished Teacher Medal” from the “Emirates Club” in 2008.
She holds a PhD in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of Exeter, an MA in Teaching English in 1996 from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, a BA in English in 1984 from the United Arab Emirates University , a Diploma in Educational Administration from the Ministry of Education in the UAE, and a Diploma in Social Research from Ajman University.
