Ibrahim Obaid Al Zaabi

Director General of the Insurance Authority since June 2012, United Arab Emirates. He is the President of the Arab Union of Insurance Supervisors, a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisory Bodies (IAIS), a member of the Emerging Countries Committee in the same association, a member of the United Nations Sustainable Insurance Forum, and a member of the Supreme Committee of the “Committee Developing national human resources in the banking and financial sector, and the Supreme Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism in the Emirates. He served as a fund manager at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) between 1994 and 2002, and deputy executive director of the Securities and Commodities Authority between 2002 and 2012, in addition to his membership in the board of directors of the Abu Dhabi Global Financial Market between 2013 and 2018. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management in 1993 from California State University, San Bernardino, in the United States of America.
