Ibrahim Obaid Al Ali

Acting Director of the Legal and Legislative Department at the “ Government of Umm Al Quwain ” since September 12, 2024, United Arab Emirates.

He has been a member of the Emirates Fatwa Council since 2018.

In 1983, he was appointed as a Public Prosecutor at the UAE Ministry of Justice , then he was appointed as a President at the Umm Al Quwain Public Prosecution in 1992, then he worked as a judge at the Ajman Court of Appeal with the rank of President at the Court of Appeal for four years.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of the “ Emirati Zakat Fund ” for the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain between 2004 and 2017, a member of the Lawyers’ Admission Committee between 2009 and 2021, and a representative of the “Ministry of Justice” in the Permanent Committee for Following Up the Comprehensive Annual Report on Human Rights in the UAE between 2011 and 2016. He also worked as a Senior Judicial Inspector in the same ministry.

He published a book entitled “Electronic Contract: A Comparative Study” in 2015.

He holds a PhD in Law from Helwan University in 2010, a Master’s degree in Private Law in 2005 from Dubai Police Academy , and a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Sharia in 1983 from United Arab Emirates University .
