Fatima Al Mazrouei's Bio
Emirati writer, storyteller, poet and playwright.
She writes the “Point from the First Line” corner on a daily basis in Al-Ru’ya newspaper, and she also writes many articles in local and Arab media. She is a member of the Emirates Writers Union. She published a book entitled “Eid Night” by the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah in 2003, and a collection of short stories entitled “The Face of a Charming Widow” issued by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage in 2008.
She won the Girls’ Clubs Award in Sharjah, the Encouragement Award in Literature for an Emirati Writer in 2001 for her collection “Eid Night.” She also won the Emirati Women’s Award in Literature and Arts in 2004 with second place in the short story for her collection “An Old Village in a Mountain,” and the Emirati Women’s Award in Literature and Arts. 2007 for her poetry collection “I Wish I Was a Rose.” In addition, she won first place in the theatrical writing competition at the Dramatists Association 2008 for her play “Clay and Glass.”
Graduate of the United Arab Emirates University, with a BA in History and Antiquities.
