Emirati writer and critic.
She has been an Assistant Professor of Modern Literature and Criticism in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Sharjah since 2018.
She is a member of many cultural institutions and societies, such as: “ The International Federation of the Arabic Language ”, “ The Emirates Writers and Authors Union ”, and the “Membership Committee” in the same union since 2020, and the “Literature and Criticism to Direct University Thesis Plans” and “University and Community Service” committees at “University of Sharjah” since 2018.
She worked as a lecturer in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Sharjah between 2014 and 2018. She also served as a member of several committees at the same university, including: the Central Committee for Supervising the Formation of Student Councils between 2020 and 2021, and the Women’s Committee between 2021 and 2022.
She was a judge in a number of literary and cultural awards, including: “Sharjah Award for Gulf Women’s Creativity” and “Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed Award for Childhood Creativity.”
She has published two books entitled “National Identity in Children’s Stories in the UAE” in 2014 and “Very Short Stories in the Arabian Gulf” in 2018, and a collection of very short stories entitled “Ebb and Flow” in 2017, in addition to some children’s stories. She has many literary articles published in cultural magazines, such as: “Al-Rafid”, “Al-Fujairah Cultural”, and “Al-Arabiya Lisani”.
She has received a number of medals and awards, including: “The Short Story Award of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development” Second Place, First Category for the year 2015, and “Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence” for the year 2018.
She studied at Al Wasl University in the UAE, where she obtained a PhD in Arabic Language and Literature, specializing in Modern Literature and Criticism in 2018, a Master’s degree in Literature and Criticism in 2013, and a BA in Arabic Language in 2005.
