Amal Al Shamlan

The first Emirati female physiotherapist. She has been a managing partner at Mirdif Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre since October 2012, and the Secretary General of the Emirates Medical Association . She worked as a manager at Dubai Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre between 2013 and 2015, and held the position of Head of Department and Rehabilitation Services Officer at Latifa Hospital between 2006 and 2013. She also worked as a lecturer at the University of Sharjah between 2001 and 2004, and contributed to the establishment of the Physiotherapy Division at the Emirates Medical Association in 2003, and worked in medical treatment at Dubai Hospital between 1989 and 2001. She holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy in 1998 from Cairo University , a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in 1989 from Kuwait University , and a certificate in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the South African Physiotherapy Association.
