Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Center of Excellence in Countering Violent Extremism “Hidayah” , United Arab Emirates.

He has been Vice-President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union since October 2023, President of the World Council of Muslim Communities, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ain News Portal, and Member of the Federal National Council for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi since November 2019.

He is also an academic, activist in civil society, and writer of an article in Al-Ittihad newspaper.

He served as the Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University , President of the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi , Director General of the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi - formerly the Abu Dhabi Education Council, and the position of Advisor to the Minister of Education in the Emirates. He also held many positions in “United Arab Emirates University”, including: University Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs between 1999 and 2004, and Assistant Dean of the College of Education for Scientific Research Affairs at the University between 1992 and 1994. He was also a member of the “ Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi .”

He has a collection of scientific research published in scientific journals and periodicals, and has also participated in many regional and international conferences.

He holds a doctorate from “Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University,” and a master’s and bachelor’s degree from “Portland State University” in the United States of America.
