Abdulrahman Mohamed Al Yassi's Bio

Director of Sharjah Youth since 2021, United Arab Emirates.

He is also a member of the Sharjah Sports Council , and has chaired the Youth Discovery Committee since 2022.

Previously, he served in the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah  during the 2019–2023 electoral cycle, directed the Leadership Development Centre at the UAE’s General Authority of Sports, managed Sharjah’s Youth Centre at the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, and worked as an educator in the public school system. 

Abdulrahman represented the UAE on the Gulf Committee for Youth and Sports Leadership Development Centres within the GCC and Led more than 10 international delegations on Gulf and Arab levels. He also chaired the Supreme Committee of the Gulf Literature and Arts Festival in the UAE, and the Youth Creativity and Cultural Festival Committee in the UAE.

He has dedicated nearly two decades (since 2005) to advancing youth programs and initiatives, actively participating in various community initiatives across the UAE.

He authored "Between Geometric Form and Artistic Substance—Al Majaz Amphitheatre” (2014).

Under his leadership, Sharjah Youth received the Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi Award for Sports Excellence.  His individual recognitions include the Distinguished Youth Centre Award at the national level and recognition as an Outstanding Field Employee by the UAE’s General Authority of Youth and Sports.

He holds a PhD in Cultural Sciences, specializing in Techniques of Cultural Mediation and Animation, in 2019 from the University of Tunis, a Master’s degree in Cultural Sciences, specializing in youth and cultural Development, in 2014, and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, in 2002.
