Abdullah Al-Basti

Secretary General of the “ Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai ” since October 18, 2017, United Arab Emirates.

He is a member of the Strategic Affairs Council of the same council, Chairman of the “Dubai Government Excellence Program” since 2017, a member of the Board of Directors of the “ Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center ”, a member of the “ Dubai Council ” since 2020, and a Commissioner General for the Government Development Path in Dubai since 2020.

He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Vice Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination in the Emirate of Dubai, Member of the Board of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation .

He held the position of Secretary-General of the UAE Cabinet between 2016 and 2017, and Director-General of the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum between 2012 and 2016, where he contributed to launching a number of strategic initiatives such as the Dubai Capital of Islamic Economy initiative. He also served as a member of the Future Governments Council at the World Economic Forum.

He held the position of Executive Director of Government Development Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future between 2010 and 2012, and Director of the UAE Government Leaders Program at the same entity between 2007 and 2010, and supervised the launch of the Emirates Government Service Program.

He holds a Master’s degree in Total Quality Management from the University of Wollongong in Dubai, a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Programming from the University of Dubai , and a Diploma in Business Administration from the same university. He also completed the UAE Government Leadership Program.
