Abdulaziz Bin Hassan Al Boug

Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance– at the Excellent Rank, since April 2023, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He has over 26 years of experience in the insurance sector, and during his tenure, he has contributed to developing strategic directions and plans, and implementing numerous corporate transformation projects.

Since assuming his duties, Abdulaziz Al Boug has led the organization's executive team, based on a strategy that complements the transformation process the Kingdom is undergoing. This strategy aims to enhance individual financial sustainability and expand insurance coverage by offering innovative products and services, in addition to enhancing the user experience by providing an advanced digital infrastructure that meets the aspirations of social insurance clients.

In addition to his work as Governor of Social Insurance, he holds a number of positions, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Authority , Mudad Business Information Systems Technology Company, and Masdar Data Solutions Company.

In addition to his membership in numerous local and international councils and committees, including the Board of Directors of the General Organization for Social Insurance, the Executive Committee emanating from the Board of Directors, the Financial Sector Development Program Committee, the National Financial Stability Committee, the Housing Program Committee, the Higher Committee for the Transfer of Nationalization Tasks to Supervisory Bodies, the Steering Committee for Monitoring the Work of the Virtual Nationalization Project, the Vaccine and Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Committee, and the Executive Office of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and its Finance Committee.

Prior to his appointment as Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance, Abdulaziz served as CEO of the company for cooperative insurance "Tawuniya", a leading Saudi insurance company with an insurance portfolio exceeding SAR 14 billion, an investment portfolio amounting to SAR 6.7 billion, and total assets exceeding SAR 15 billion. He achieved a qualitative leap in improving financial performance and implementing an ambitious transformation strategy that contributed to raising the company's performance level.

He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of several companies, including Waseel Electronic Information Transfer, Tree Digital Insurance, and Tijan Gulf. He also served as Chairman of the Health Insurance Subcommittee.

He also served on a number of committees and boards of directors, including the Executive Committee, Nominations and Remuneration Committee, and Investment Committee of the company for cooperative insurance "Tawuniya", the Executive Committee of the Saudi Central Bank, the Board of Directors and Nominations and Remuneration Committee of Vision Bank and United Insurance Company in Bahrain, and the Board of Directors and Executive and Strategic Committee of the Cooperative Health Insurance Council .

Abdulaziz holds an Executive MBA from the University of Hull, UK, and a Bachelor's degree in International Business from King Abdulaziz University, and an American Fellowship in Health Insurance, in addition to numerous international certifications in management and strategy.
